yay! The pictures have finally returned! Sumo wrestling was definitely a "cultural experience". We were smart and went early - buying the cheap tickets and watching the "amateurs". Of course, we don't know the difference between the good and the bad when it comes to sumo, so it was all a blast for us!

I am *so* jealous!!! I wanted to go to one of those sumo camps when I went with you guys. I just picked the wrong time to visit during an "off sumo season" ;)

Any additional reflections on the ceremony of throwing salt and the stomping out of evil spirits before the match begins?

I am expecting that top picture of the sumo guy to all of a sudden do a backflip and start a crazy Street Fighting championship ... hmm, probably a little too "anime" (as opposed to "hollywood") ;)
