yay, now I can keep everyone posted on all the cool and happening things in my area of the world. So, I'm at the store buying a book for a friend, and the clerk at the checkout was talking in some very fast (to me incomprehensible) German. This is fine and dandy, because he was talking to the other clerk behind the desk. Until he looks up at me with questioning eyes. I suddenly realize - maybe he's talking to me! So I say "Are you talking to me?". He just bursts into laughter, and proceeded to give me my receipt. I have no idea what he said, but HE sure thought it was funny!!!
My new favorite German phrase: Gute Fahrt (sounds like Good Fart). Meaning: Drive Safely! I love saying it to folks!
I'm out and about traveling now, thus the lack in recent updates. Now I am in Germany visiting my old roomie, Stacy, and we just returned from a week in Italy. The best part was Cinque Terra - a hike between 5 small cities on the Italian Riviera. Definitely check it out if you're in the area! I'll be getting pictures back sometime soon, so keep your eyes peeled for a photolog update. The final leg of our trip was in Rome - a very happening city. I could have stayed there a few weeks, just exploring the many winding streets and historical sites. Anyhoo, I'll keep ya'll posted on the rest of my trip as it unwinds. Ciao!----
